THE COMPUTER-AIDED EXAMINATION (CAE)

We have designed a comprehensive examination that may take between 60 and 90 minutes, or even longer, when the problems presented are very complex. The exam covers always the following:

• cancer screening
• muscles exam
• temporo-mandibular joints (TMJ) exam
• teeth exam: old restorations, active problems
• gums exam (periodontal charting)
• bite exam (occlusion)
• esthetic exam
• intraoral computerized camera exam
• photographs

If needed, more investigations may be performed:

• radiographs (panoramic, periapical films, bite-wings, TMJ films, etc.)
• study casts of the dental arches
• face-bow recording of the hinge axis and bite records
• Doppler auscultation of TMJ noises

The examination is performed with the help of VICTOR DENTAL CHARTING software, the leading voice activated dental charting system, by Pro-Dentec in Batesville, AR.

The intra-oral computerized camera allows us to take snapshots of any condition in the mouth and enlarge it 50 times, for better diagnosis.
